When life gives you lemons, make some spiked lemonade!
Toast the warm weather with this refreshing and classic drink.
• 2 1/4 cups of sugar (or even less if you want)
• 5 cups of water
• 1 tbsp. grated lemon zest
• 1 3/4 cups of fresh Catania
lemons, squeezed
• 1 cup of light rum or vodka
GARNISH:
• Lemon slices
1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and lemon zest. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
2. Add fresh Catania lemons; squeezed.
3. Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled.
4. Add and stir rum or vodka. For each serving, pour lemonade mixture into glass and add lots of ice! Garnish with fresh Catania lemon slices as desired.
