SAVORY fig & MASCARPONE pastry

Savor this delightful harmony of sweet and savory, where the creamy indulgence of mascarpone and goat cheese meets the natural sweetness of Catania figs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 puff pastry sheet, homemade or store bought, thawed
  • 1 lb fresh Catania figs, cut into ¼ inch slices
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • ½ cup goat cheese, crumbled
  • Honey
  • Pinch of Salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the puff pastry sheet on top and gently prick it with a fork to prevent excessive puffing.
  3. Spread an even thin layer of mascarpone cheese over the pastry, arrange the fig slices on top and sprinkle half of the crumbled goat cheese.
  4. Bake on the middle rack for about 20 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed around the figs.
  5. Let it cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle a pinch of salt on top.
  6. To your liking, drizzle with honey and sprinkle the rest of the crumbled goat cheese on top. Serve warm and enjoy!
